Nadja Salameh who was born in Munich began her musical training at the Peter Cornelius Conservatory in Mainz and continued her singing studies at the officially recognized opera- and singing-school Scuola del Belcanto in Bad Homburg. Additionally, she took a degree in the subject musicology at the Johannes-Gutenberg-University of Mainz and worked together with distinguished conducters like Sergiu Celibidache and Helmuth Rilling.

 

Nadja Salameh's individual warm and dark-timbred voice is of high expressiveness and her range of three octaves allows her to cover the classical repertoire for mezzo-soprano as well as the concert repertoire for alto, such as masses and requiems of L. van Beethoven, W. A. Mozart and G. Rossini. Besides of this she is also at home in the baroque oratories of G. F. Händel.

 

Asides from the breeches-parts of the 19th century - by Bellini, Donzetti and famous women's parts like Carmen (G. Bizet),j the emphasis of her opera repertoire includes the comical parts of this period as well.

 

Since 1997 Nadja Salameh has been working as an international opera- and concertsinger.
